SAN SAN GEAR and JIAN YE Turn the Three Mystic Apes Into Interactive Techwear
The subverted collaboration explores ancient proverbs through interactive hardware and modular garments.

SAN SAN GEAR
South Korean utility brand SAN SAN GEAR has teamed up with Tokyo’s JIAN YE on a tightly focused capsule that reworks the classic “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” proverb. Under JIAN YE creative director Kan Sugano, the collection adds a fourth monkey—“do no evil”—and builds the idea directly into the clothes.
Snap buttons on several pieces can be fastened in different configurations so the wearer physically recreates the familiar gestures of covering the eyes, ears, or mouth. A standout packable jacket collapses completely into a monkey-shaped bag. The rest of the drop mixes heavy faux-fur panels, tech hoodies, graphic tees, beanies, and protective gloves, all tied together by matching four-bead hardware.
The collection launches Friday, 6 November 2026. In Japan it will be available at GR8, PULP and select stockists, with a three-day pop-up in Jingumae, Tokyo. In South Korea it drops the same day on the San San Gear online store and via the KREAM app.
