Onitsuka Tiger Steps Onto The Green

Onitsuka Tiger has moved into golf with the MEXICO 66 GOLF, and celebrated the launch through a short programme called Club 66 at Finca Cortesin in Malaga. Guests from different countries, including models, actors and cultural figures, spent two days testing the new shoe on the course and experiencing the brand’s mix of style and function.

The MEXICO 66 GOLF keeps the familiar lines of the classic MEXICO 66 but adds practical details for the game. A waterproof build and a tongue design that helps keep sand out sit alongside an outsole shaped for grip on grass and in bunkers. Small brand touches, such as an embroidered logo on the tongue and a metallic mark on the heel, keep the shoe recognisable as Onitsuka Tiger while serving the needs of play.

Between rounds the group relaxed by the pool, shared Spanish food and closed the trip with a sunset dinner and live music along the coast. The event framed the shoe as more than equipment. It presented golf as another setting where the brand’s easy elegance and everyday performance can meet.

With this first step onto the course, Onitsuka Tiger continues to expand the reach of a silhouette that has long moved between sport and street, now finding a place among the fairways.
